Event Description

The Sharon Springs Poetry Festival returns October 15–17, 2026, presented by the Klinkhart Hall Arts Center. Continuing a tradition founded by Pulitzer Prize–winning poet Paul Muldoon, the festival brings distinguished voices in contemporary poetry to a small village setting, where readings, conversations, and workshops unfold over the course of a long autumn weekend. As in previous years, all public events remain free and open to everyone, reflecting a simple but important idea that the arts should be accessible, shared, and lived with.

This year’s festival features three remarkable poets: Sherman Alexie, Tina Chang, and Mary Jo Salter. Each brings a distinct voice and body of work, spanning lyrical reflection, formal precision, and socially engaged storytelling. Together, they offer a wide and generous view of what poetry can be today. Audiences will have the chance not only to hear their readings, but to engage more directly through discussions and workshops that invite participation rather than observation.

Stay tuned for more details.
