The historic Klinkhart Hall building is located at 191 Main Street (Route 10), in Sharon Springs, directly across from the American Hotel.
Until the building is restored, events are scheduled at other venues in the village. You can easily find these on the map, or the links below will give you directions from your location to the venues currently in use.

Events take place at various venues throughout Sharon Springs while Klinkhart Hall is under restoration. The 2026 Poetry Festival, October 15–17, takes place at the American Hotel, Sharon Springs Central School, Chartwell Studios, and Sharon Springs Free Library. The American Hotel

2026 Poetry Festival: Dinner with the poets, Thursday, October 15. The cash bar opens at 6 p.m.; dinner is served at 7 p.m.
The historic American Hotel is on Main Street, directly across from Klinkhart Hall. Advance dinner booking is required.

2026 Poetry Festival: public reading and book signing, Friday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m., in the school auditorium. Admission is free.
The school is next to Stewart’s Shops on Route 20. Coming from East (Albany), the driveway to the school auditorium & parking lot is on the left at Chestnut Street (County Route 55) intersection; from West, turn right just past the Budget Inn on Route 20.

2026 Poetry Festival: Saturday, October 17. Writing workshops take place from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the free Poetry and Posterity panel from 1 to 2 p.m.
Paul Muldoon’s workshop is on the second floor; the first-floor workshop poet will be announced. Workshops require advance registration. Contact us with questions about venue access.

2026 Poetry Festival: writing workshops, Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Workshops meet in the Community Room and Meeting Room; poet assignments will be announced. Admission is free, with advance registration required.
