Klinkhart Hall’s theater programming has centered on accessible, community-driven productions that bring classic works into a shared public setting. A cornerstone of this work has been the Sharon Springs Shakespeare in the Park series, first launched in 2017 and later expanded through free outdoor performances in Chalybeate Park, including productions staged by the Vainglory Theatre team. These performances continue the tradition of open-air Shakespeare, inviting audiences of all ages to experience live theater in a relaxed, communal environment. Additional theatrical highlights have included staged presentations such as A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters, alongside collaborations that blend theater with dance and movement-based performance during events like the Sharon Springs Dance Festival. Together, these programs reflect Klinkhart’s commitment to making theater both approachable and immediate, rooted in language, performance, and the shared experience of gathering.
Klinkhart Hall Arts Center’s programs are made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
Most of our events are free to attend, but they are not cost-free to produce.
You can help the nonprofit Klinkhart Hall Arts Center continue to bring the Sharon Springs Poetry Festival and other quality events to our community by making a donation.
