PRESENTING
DIVERSE VOICES OF AMERICAN MUSIC
  • Florence Price (1887-1953), was the first African-American female composer to gain national recognition;
  • Zhou Long, an Asian-American composer who received the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Music;
  • Amy Beach (1867-1944), was one of the first successful American female composers of large-scale art music;
  • Astro Piazzolla (1921-1992), an Argentine-American known as the world’s foremost composer of Tango music.

This season, The Upper Catskill String Quartet will present performances at four locations around Schoharie County.
