We’re thrilled to announce that\, by special arrangement\, the 2026 Dinner with the Poets will take place at the historic American Hotel and will be prepared by Chef Lee Woolver. \nIn addition to a special American Hotel dinner\, attendees will be able to meet the poets in advance of the public events\, and each of the Festival poets\, Sherman Alexie\, Tina Chang\, and Mary Jo Salter\, will offer a special reading between courses. \n\nCash bar opens at 6:00 p.m.\nDinner is served at 7:00 p.m.\n$90 per person includes dinner and gratuity; drinks are extra.\nWe will do our best to honor seating preferences.\nA vegetarian option is available at checkout.\n\nReserve your dinner seat\n\n\n\n\nOctober16 \nFriday\n\n\n\n11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.\n\nSchool program · Not open to the public \nStudent Poetry Writing Workshops\nFestival poets work with students in a dedicated school program. \n\n\n\n7:30 p.m.\n\nFree · Open to the public \nFestival Poetry Reading and Book Signing\nSharon Springs Central School Auditorium514 State Highway 20\, Sharon Springs\, NY 13459 \nMap & directions ↗ \nAn evening of readings by Paul Muldoon\, Tina Chang\, Mary Jo Salter\, and Sherman Alexie. The Sharon Springs Poetry Festival offers four intimate writing workshops led by Paul Muldoon\, Sherman Alexie\, Tina Chang\, and Mary Jo Salter. \nLimited to just eight participants each\, these small-group workshops offer a rare opportunity to work directly with one of the festival poets in an informal and supportive setting.
